Murphy's Law states that 'anything that can go wrong will go wrong' and this book is a collection of 59 short stories about pest control treatments that didn't work out as planned! They include the story of a cursed ship that we had to fumigate and what happened on the day that Nelson Mandela came to our town after his release from prison. Also, the tale of a Piper Cherokee plane that lost a wheel after striking a termite mound, that we later had to fly home in! Then there's the treatment of a famous conference centre that went horribly wrong just before the Queen and Commonwealth heads of state arrived and the story of a cheetah pinning one of my servicemen to the ground during a service. Most of the stories are highly amusing, but a few are sad and the rest are simply fascinating to read. Anyway, have a few laughs, shed the odd tear and enjoy the book!
