The world above the crust has gone bananas. The rapidly evolving Pandemic is everywhere. Healthcare facilities are overwhelmed. The economy is in the toilet. Armed bands of marauders roam the streets of rural America, taking the law into their own hands. Across the pond the nations of Europe huddle together in the face of certain ruin to form a more perfect union. Russia and China are suddenly best friends. India reluctantly joins the lovefest. Meanwhile down below in Sanctuary the underground city is gradually filling up. The influx of humanity is accompanied by all the usual growing pains. And then somebody finds what might turn out to be a cure for the Pandemic in the healing waters of the Sanctuary reservoir. The problem is there may not be enough of those healing waters to go around. It's a great, big, whacked-out planet up there replete with a surfeit of egotism and avarice. And if the secret leaks out it's Katie bar the door!!
