Ayaan Suleiman is a young Yemeni immigrant living in Ottawa. She's working as a cleaner in an office building to pay for her studies at La Cite Collegiale. One night Ayaan meets a tall, dark and handsome but distraught man. Jean-Baptiste Vincent, a rookie Haitian-Canadian attorney who's suicidal after getting disowned by his parents due to his scandalous lifestyle.
