Contributor Bio:  Lane, John John Lane is the author of more than a dozen books of poetry and prose, including Abandoned Quarry: New and Selected Poems. He has received an NEA Poetry Apprenticeship Grant, a Hoyns Fellowship in Poetry from the University of Virginia, a South Carolina Arts Commission Individual Arts Fellowship, and the 2001 Phillip D. Reed Memorial Award for Outstanding Writing on the Southern Environment from the Southern Environmental Law Center. In 2008, his literary papers were acquired by Texas Tech University's James Sowell Family Collection of Literature, Community, and the Natural World. He is a co-founder of the Hub City Writers Project and teaches Environmental Literature and Creative Writing at Wofford College.
