She is internationally known for her work on the social, economic, and political issues arising with innovations in information and communication technologies. She was Head of the Media and Communications Department at LSE (2006-2009), President of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (2004-2008), and Scientific Chair of the EuroCPR conference on digital media, communication and regulatory policy (2008-2014). She is the author of "Imagining the Internet: Communication, Innovation and Governance "(2012), and co-editor of "The Handbook of Global Media and Communication Policy "(Wiley-Blackwell, 2011) and "The Oxford Handbook of Information and Communication Technologies" (2007). Peng Hwa Ang is the Director of the Singapore Internet Research Centre and Professor at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research focuses on media law and policy and more specifically on Internet governance. He was a member of the UN Working Group on Internet Governance and author of "Ordering Chaos: Regulating the Internet" (2005). He co-founded the Global Internet Governance Academic Network and the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum and served as inaugural chair of both groups. He also served as Chairman of the Asian Information Media and Communication Centre (AMIC) from 2004-2013. Contributor Bio:  Ang, Peng Hwa Peng Hwa Ang is Dean of the School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. A lawyer by training, Dr. Ang worked as a journalist before obtaining his Ph. D. in mass media at Michigan State University. His work on Internet regulation has been presented before government and private bodies in Singapore as well as development agencies such as the United Nations Development Program. He is a board member of the Internet Content Rating Association, which is working to create an internationally accepted seal of self-rating. In 2004, he was nominated a member of the United Nations Working Group on Internet Governance. Contributor Bio:  Braman, Sandra Sandra Braman is Professor in the Department of Communication, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is the editor of "Communication Researchers and Policy-Making" (MIT Press, 2003). Contributor Bio:  Kleine, Dorothea Dorothea Kleine is Senior Lecturer in Human Geography and Director of the interdisciplinary ICT4D Centre at Royal Holloway, University of London, where she also leads the Master's Programme in Practising Sustainable Development. Grimshaw is the International Team Leader of the Responding to New Technologies Programme at Practical Action, and Visiting Fellow at Cranfield School of Management in Bedford.
