William Sandys
Solicitor and writer on music William Sandys (1792-1874) and Simon Andrew Forster (1801-70), of the famous family of instrument makers, collaborated on this 1864 work. It is an important treatise of its time for its historical survey of bowed instruments, and for its first-hand information on the Forster family.
