This appealing story presents the concepts of sharing, friendship, kindness, problem-solving, good citizenship, and the proper treatment of animals. Young children can easily identify with the heroes as they demonstrate these values. Danny adopts Buki, a cuddly, stray puppy, and raises him with love and care. A resourceful boy, Danny addresses Buki's desire to reconnect with an old pal. Along his journey, Buki encounters many exciting adventures. This story was first told in 1982 by Motty and his two sons, Erez, age 9, and Zafrir, age 7. Together the boys created a small, handmade book. When their youngest brother, Dan, turned 5 years old, they read him their storybook. In the years to follow, the book was safely kept by their mom, Diane. In 2002, when the boys were grown up and reminisced about the adventures of Buki the Flying Dog, they decided that other children would find delight in reading their story. Diane took their book from her dresser drawer and immediately the work began.
