A Painted Verse is a collection of poems and shorts (stories of a 1000 words or less) that deal with such themes as the struggles of communication, the nature of reality, and the complexity of our own existence, and does so with humor, lyricism, and insight. Notable poems include "Asylum Lover" inspired by Dylan Thomas' "Love in an Asylum" and "Empty" about trying to find a glimmer of hope in a run-down dystopian world. As a bonus this collection includes the previously published short story "Dr. Augustine's Surrealistic Circus", a humorous, satirical story about "a dictator, a ringleader, and a very special circus."
