Fresh from learning about Walter Deus' jaded history, newly-turned vampire Gabriel Price steels his resolve to search for the Blood Omen, the sacred tome that is believed to grant salvation or damnation to the entire vampiric race, before Walter manages to get his hands on it first and enslaves the entire human race to a life of eternal servitude. Yet as time presses on, and the more Gabriel learns about himself, his decision on what he will do once he possesses the sacred tome becomes a lot less clear-cut. Upon resting, he finds himself in the Abyss, a place where the souls of all of the dead Mystics resides, a realm where he can commune with the deceased Amylexia. Here he finds out the truth behind who-or what-he actually is, that he has powers beyond his abilities to comprehend, powers no other vampires have the ability to possess. Amylexia tasks him to seek out the Ancients, vampires that have been lost with time, and to come back to her once he has the answers he so desperately seeks. What once started as a simple task to retrieve the Blood Omen before Walter manages to get his hands on it becomes something so much more. Now there are others vying for control of the ancient artifact, all with their own personal agenda. And there is a tormenting war raging inside of himself at what he discovers of who he truly is. A confrontation is at hand, which begs the question that Gabriel must ask himself: If he does manage to get his hands on it first, what will he do? Whose side will he take? And when the time comes, will he ultimately be able to make the decision that needs to be made?
