'I Am Soul' is a series of poems that depict the author's journey as she traverses from a sheltered place of uncertainty into adulthood, while navigating all the twists and turns that come in between. The collection which is divided into three parts, is about youth and the warmth of friendship, about the excitement and consciousness of growing up and about the challenges of being all grown-up, part of which is accepting the uniqueness of who and what one was created to be. Alma's words are powerfully woven to impart that mysterious peace and hope that evades an uncaring world. In her poems there is counsel, wonder and self-discovery where the soul comes to understand that it is here because of the love of God. It is this enlightenment that causes her to exclaim in the poem 'All Grown Up' that: A bastion has been unveiled, As the fetters flew apart, Darkness took a backward tread... The entire collection of poems testify to her purity and innocent beauty.
