This book documents ideas, theories, and opinions relevant to pondering our universe, from the ingredients required to create a universe to the ultimate question - what is the purpose and source of the universe. Quoting astrophysicist Martin Harwit: "This book is unique and refreshing, a valuable contribution." The cover illustrates the common theme, an analysis of our universe (or multiverse). Each chapter addresses fundamental questions about the cosmos. Although opinions of noted scientists are quoted from reliable sources, some answers are ambiguous and may remain so for many years. For example, will scientists discover a pattern for the fundamental constants (chapter two)? Will there ever be more than circumstantial evidence for the multiverse (chapter three)? Will string theory reconcile general relativity and quantum mechanics (chapters five)? What is the purpose and source of the universe (chapter seven)? Conversely, other issues were clarified: the distinction between the laws of nature and the laws of physics (chapter four); and the requirements for a Theory of Everything (chapter six). This semi-technical book is intended for readers who ponder "big" questions about nature, and if they had time, would perform research to assess opinions of noted physicists. But since this was my objective, the book should save others timely research. Subsequently, readers might build on the analyses provided.
