On those nights when the thick forest is particularly quiet, when only one moon rests in the sky, Jessy will sleep deeply. She dreams of her children playing at her feet. She feels her husband's warm embrace. When she awakes, the children climbing in to share her bed are not the children of her dreams. The man laying beside her is not the same man she embraced when she slept. Marooned centuries ago on a planet with no human name, Jessy and four others accepted a new reality thrust upon them: No rescuer came for them yesterday, and no rescuer will come for them today. A happy existence requires more than daily survival. So they agree-to preserve their well-being-to become progenitors, fathers and mothers of a new civilization. But the religion of earth, human greed, and the discovery of a new race all collide to change the current reality. If the cold, blue pool of justification is infinite, is it enough to drown Jessy's guilt?
