A Classroom Guide to Computing Peter Herbert
A Classroom Guide to Computing
Peter Herbert
This book covers a basic introduction to what computer hardware and software are, and a brief discussion of how some current technologies are being used today. Between 2017 and 2019, I volunteered in a local primary school. During this time, I created a number of handouts, posters and planning notes for use by the teachers in the school. I then had the opportunity to share my resources with other local schools. This book is my attempt to organise some of the resources that I have made, and condense them into a form that is easy to use by other teachers. Some resources are accompanied by brief summaries, which are hopefully clear enough to give a good overview, whilst concise enough not to overload the reader, staff and student alike. Whilst I have added more detail than is possibly necessary to pass on to Key Stage 2 (KS2) children, I hope that this book is approachable enough for both teachers and students of KS2 and onwards. Some resources are designed to be photocopiable for those holding appropriate licenses from the Copyright Licensing Agency in the UK.
