An Anthology of Hungarian Verse Ivan Kovacs

This anthology contains a selection of Hungarian poems chosen and translated by Ivan Kovacs whose previous translations from Hungarian were published under the titles "Suburban Night and Other Poems" which contain the poems of Attila Jozsef, and "Villon Ballads" a Hungarian version of Francois Villon's poems by Gyorgy Faludy which Kovacs translated into English. The present collection contains poems by Hungarian poets who were active from 1900 onwards up to and including what is known in Hungary as the third generation. Kovacs has also written an autobiographical novel which tells the story of his own life titled "Face to Face: A Personal Odyssey", and a collection of his own poems which is titled "Pagan Prayer".
