This is the story of two women who share the same first name "Germaine" Germaine Lazare is a nurse who lost everything in the earthquake that detroyed the city of Zoar. Her husband and father -in-law presumably perished. Germaine Lazare and her son Muller only sixteen found refuge in the city of Artibonite. There she met a widow Germaine Belizaire. The two women became friends . It is also the tale of two men Mark-Aurelius, an earthquake survivor, paraplegic and anmesic who lost everything in the eathquake, and Octavia Belizaire, a political prisoner, supposibly dead but still alive. In a twist of events; the two men found themselves in the Valley of Gideon, a revolutionaries's quarter; there they develop a sincere friendship. The two men would ever imagine that they have something in commun: The two Germaines.
