I Can Be Tassen Khandoker

I Can Be aims to empower our black and brown children further to be like our heroes. Through narrative and illustrations, I Can Be challenge our children to aspire to be a business person like Alton Sterling, a college graduate like Sandra Bland, or the coolest kid on the block like Trayvon Martin. Not only must we always say their names (and the spectrum of other people of colour I Can Be covers), but we should also always remind our children and communities who they were, the intellect they held, their vibe, and to respect their hustle. While reforming the systems that ripped them out of our communities and families.
