Take a live look at action in the Southwest Pacific during World War II as my late father takes you with him into various battles, their victories and heartbreak, as he worked as a member of General Douglas MacArthur's press staff. You will get to know a few of the correspondents, as well as get an inside look at the general himself, along with other notable officers during that theater of battle. The book begins with my father's entry into the horse calvary at Fort Riley, Kansas, an odd assignment, given that he didn't know how to ride a horse! But his move onto the camp newspaper and later into press liaison positions allowed him to have a unique perspective during this critical time in our history. You also will get a glimpse into the romance and wartime marriage of my parents. All in all, I hope, a book you will enjoy for many hours.
