Carolyn Slaughter's earlier publication, Language As Disclosure: Reading Language in the Works of Five American Modernists, analyzed the presentation, representation, the purpose and effect, of the language she examined in a few key literary works through the lens of Heidegger's thinking on that essential theme. In Time "Matters" her focus turns to time: "not," as she wrote in one essay, "a thin trickle of now's, but a multidimensional world full of luxuriant plasticity." In this new publication she explores the presentation, representation, the purpose and effect, of time as she descries it in her examination of works by modernist American authors.
