The Mudgrubber of Freedonia. This is a stand alone science fiction adventure novel. Though it is number 7 in the Remains of Earth (Series. 1,2,3,4,5 are already published. Though this is number 7 number 6 is still being written. ) Number 7 is stand alone and there is no need to read the previous books in the series. Three hundred years have come and gone. The survivors of Burnt Earth have expanded into a five thousand mile wide valley. An unclimbable mountain range which is a barrier to expansion has been by-passed by a sea voyage. A sea journey which because of winds and currents is one way only. The colonists who have come by sea have named the land Freedonia. There are small towns along the coast an some inland but it is largely rural. It is peaceful and sparsely settled land. Sam Farbro is the young son of farmer. His only problem is how to convince the girl he loves to trust him and that his feelings for her are sincere. Through no fault of his own the girl has good reason not to trust him. The trust comes when the girl and her parents are attacked by two raiders. Sam kills both the men. An act he never wishes never to repeat. But he has to kill again.
