Bryn is a changeling, banned from her family and her country, sent to live in a faraway forest with a foster family. As she grows she develops healing skills and the skills of a sorceress. She meets a colony of dwarves who tell her about a prophesy which would heal the land and change her whole country. As a 12 year old Bryn's paternal grandmother sends her in disguise to another country to an academy of sorcery. Bryn encounters opportunities to use her skills and sees a world she has never experience before. As a young woman she returns home to a civil conflict where her skills are useful. Continuing her anonymity, Bryn travels again to follow up leads that the dwarves have sent her on.
