Abstract Drawings is a wonderful collection of dry media drawings that were made during a month long drawing spree along with a variety of other drawings that were completed during different phases of the artist's career. These particular drawings contain a variety of outcomes unique to the different time periods in which they were completed. Excerpts from one of the artist's sketchbooks completes this book.

The drawings in Abstract Drawings are complex, sometimes consisting of two or more drawings on top of one another. There is tearing, burning, and black tape involved in many of them. A strong sense of color and balance create drawings that are both interesting and extraordinary.

The drawings in Abstract Drawings seek to capture a varied expression of an emotion, feeling, or mood. By observing the expressive and sometimes almost violent application of line and color, the viewer can gain a sense of the artist's struggle when he was making each abstract drawing. Others are more subdued and refined, yet always display a bold, colorful, original, and spontaneous dynamic.
