Stockton family writings in this book include two generations. The youngest is Ellen Stockton, who despite being developmentally disabled and having Cerebral Palsy, manages to write some poetry, one of which is in this book. The oldest is James, Ellen's Father, who wrote the majority of the book. He generally writes in a more traditional style. James' late sister, Joyce provides the second largest group of poetry in the book. She writes poetry in an unconventional essay- type style. The final contributor is Ellen's sister, Sara. Most of the writing are poems, although there are also a couple of essays.
