A Mere Mortal is an episodic account of one man's journey from child genius to mediocrity, via kidnapping, glaring mistakes, local fame, celebrity encounters and unfulfilled ambitions. This is a witty, charming and, above all, honest look at the life of an average man, A Mere Mortal. A Mere Mortal takes an objective look at decisions and events in my life, starting at primary school in Gloucestershire, through grammar school, and university in Wales, stopping off to consider how life would have changed had I taken opportunities in the media and on stage to depart from my mundane 9-5 office work. It details how, along the way, I met with celebrities such as Lord Coe, Tony Currie (in the bath!) Kelly Sotherton, Chloe Newsome and 'Toady' from Neighbours, explains a bit about my Welsh background and family members who played for Wales such as Trevor Hockey, and talks about the origins of Shubby and the Mammacs. It is my belief that A Mere Mortal will make you smile, as it uncovers my doubts, fears and insecurities.
