A book of punks, degenerates, alcoholics, heroes, and monsters - inside the mind of a cartoonist, on the streets of Philly, and around the after-life city of Slumville. This collection of short stories range from the disturbingly mundane to the unthinkably absurd, and sometimes both at once. Connecting them all, and infused in the experimental design and cartooning, is a theme of a restless soul trapped in a world who devalues him and a mind that betrays him. The topics explored with almost uncomfortable detail - from race, to substance abuse, to sex, to suicide - might be overwhelming if they weren't presented with a consistent lens of dark humor.
