Tara Riley Taylor is the youngest Taylor sibling. She is on her way to becoming one of the best Crime Scene Investigator (CSI) in the Chicago area, until she has to investigate the murder of her best friend, Tia Thomas. Known for getting too personally involved when it's someone or something she cares about, Tar's boss, Captain Carl Marshall cautions Tara that he may have to remove her from the case. Not willing to accept that her best friend had become someone she didn't recognize, Tara is determine to find out exactly what happened to Tia during the last ten days of her life.

As the investigation gets underway, Tara is shocked to find out that someone she is very close to may know more about what happen to Tia. Danger lurks around the corner and Tara finds herself forced from her home, life in danger, and scrabbling to find out what is going on before tragedy strikes again. Will Tara be able to solve the mystery that surrounding Tia's murder or will she become the next victim?
