Commander Calla Minerva of the Death and Taxes affectionately calls herself "The Better Half of the Best Crew In the Galaxy," and perhaps there's some truth to that. Along with Captain Oliver "Archimedes" Anderson, she operates one of the galaxy's last serving FTL freighters. They tell their clients they're the last because they're the best, but the silent truth is that ships have been slowly disappearing for years. Everyone has an explanation: it's too expensive, it's too dangerous, it's too difficult to be away from home like that. Others blame a "curse" that eats ships.
