The Tracks -a refuge- is set in rural Nova Scotia, Canada. People moved into abandoned rail cars on the wrong side of a broken down bridge. Their neighbourhood, five derelict railroad cars, came to be called The Tracks. They wanted to live a different sort of life than the people with lawns scrambled for in the early 1950's. Juliette Cameron skippered a commercial fishing boat at seventeen years of age. She arrived at The Tracks, when she was twenty three, looking for the rest of her life. The enigmatic mix of people at The Tracks gelled into a unique community. It's difficult to distinguish noxious weeds from beautiful flowers in their early stages. But every garden needs weeding.
