An astonishing story of a young Canadian geologist whose simple act of kindness to a stranger turns out to be the triggering action which has ramifications in the lives of many people on two continents. Reminiscent of the unseen forces, seen in operation among the Greek dramatists, the interweaving currents of good and evil run through so many lives. When some members of a Chinese tong try to intrude in some of these lives in the French village they find themselves coming to a surprising end of their schemes. A gentle love story is woven through the warp and woof of these currents in the lives in this French setting.
