When Sam Tungsten finds himself alone to raise his daughter Lizzie, he imitates the only single-parent role model he can recall - his alcoholic father. Juggling his business while taking care of his daughter becomes more and more difficult with each bottle he consumes, and the string of dead-end relationships he has with one nameless woman after another serves only to deteriorate his already fragile relationship with Lizzie. Meanwhile, looking for love and acceptance, Lizzie discovers a new group of friends and finds herself in deep trouble more ways than one.
