Begged for help by a notorious snitch,
the Earwig, an unsuspecting archeologist,
Dr. John Monsieur, becomes the object
of ruthless collectors who believe he has
a golden sandal from the burial of Alexander
the Great and the clue that leads to his lost
tomb. He is plunged unwillingly into the sordid
and clandestine world of international antiquities
smuggling, where he quickly discovers murder,
a web of intrigue, and finds himself the target
when he discovers too much.
