Her diplomatic tour of the other Kingdoms ends abruptly when someone tries to have her assassinated. Not fully healed and still struggling to accept her husband's unwitting role in the attack, Najika forms an unusual bond with Linn, a foreigner. When Najika discovers that the attempt on her life may not be as straightforward as it seemed, she plunges ahead to decode the mystery with Linn's help.
