Jake with his dog Sandy move between their mountain cabin at Blackberry Inn outside of Weaverville, North Carolina and their beach cottage at Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. After leaving the FBI Jake becomes a photographer, which places him in a variety of situations where his former FBI training helps him work with the local authorities to bring several criminals to justice and finally resolve his issues with John Wesley William. Sandy, his dog, is always right there to assist and provide companionship. His friendship with Barbara and Susan continues to develop.
