Not only does she have to deal with the struggles of living in the New York slums, but she has to come home to an alcoholic mother who is mentally and physically abusive. When newcomer on the block, Tara Woodward, finds herself in a run with a local gang member, Jodie puts all of her worries behind to help the stranger. While they both would like to believe the problems would stop there, they seem to always find themselves in the middle of bad situations....including the disappearance of Jodie's sister. As Jodie and Tara struggle to survive the ghetto, their irreconcilable differences collide, but the one thing the both agree on is that no on is safe in the 'hood!
