Bill Merrill, with a phD in geography and a career in teaching, has drawn together the ideas of Buckminster Fuller, Kenneth Galbraith, Jacques Ellul, and others in a critique of modern industrialized civilization. He then carries to another level an analysis of the "personhood" of the corporation, and its rapidly growing threat to our globalized, technologized, and corporatized species. Written in 1969 and just now published in 2006, this book is even more desperately relevant now than at the time of its writing.
