How to be an (Almost) Perfect Parent
Ellie Presner
Ellie Presner worked as a social counsellor in Montreal during the 1980s. At the Parent Enrichment Project she specialized in teaching parenting skills, and later at Ville Marie Social Service Centre she was a family-support worker helping families in difficulty. She saw a wide range of parent-child interactions when doing her home visits, as she taught people how to become better parents. The Dos and Don'ts offered throughout this book are drawn from her first-hand observations. Ellie also taught "Introduction to Intervention with Families" at Dawson College's Social Service Department. Ellie and her two children managed to survive in a single-parent household.
