Chasing Shadows Chris Sheerin
Chasing Shadows
Chris Sheerin
Set in the nationalist Creggan housing estate during the Troubles, Chasing Shadows centres on the life of young Seamus Doherty, a 'simple bastard', whose father was, he suspects, an informer for the British army. But Seamus shows promise at school and gives indications that he might progress beyond his difficult background. As the Troubles unfold, however, and Seamus moves from adolescence to adulthood, he becomes increasingly involved in the violence of the time, even as he begins a relationship with a young Protestant woman. And, when shadowy figures emerge from his father's past. Seamus gets dragged deeper and deeper into the power struggles being played out in the North.
