The writing in clear and simple, requiring no knowledge or reading skills beyond the average high school education. It intends its audience to include non-Catholic parents. It covers history, theology, ritual, preparation ... It includes hints for appropriate gifts, party ideas, prayers, a family novena preceding the sacrament. These elements include ideas appropriate for a wide swath of social backgrounds ... I'll admit I chuckled at red jello. The result is a book that is genuinely useful for nearly any parish, nearly all parents.
