Going Greek Austin Shission

Austin Shission is a student at the University of Rhode Island pursuing a degree in microbiology. He is a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity at the local Rhode Island Beta Chapter. Over his college career, he has served in many leadership capacities both in and out of the Greek community. He has hopes of becoming a doctor in the future so he may continue serving others in his everyday life. Austin has been and continues to be one who challenges himself and others every day to reach new heights and never give up on dreams.

"Going Greek" offers a unique perspective on the Greek system through first-hand accounts, general knowledge, and its inner workings. With chapters covering everything from recruitment to academics, and even hazing, this text is honest in its views with recognizing the great things and shortcomings in the Greek system. Austin hopes to shed light on the workings and true purpose of the Greek community in an effort to inform others and to help in stopping those that put the community in a bad light.
