When recent college graduate Vanessa Martin accepts her first teaching job, she doesn't expect the year to hold much excitement. But it isn't long before small-town Haven gives her all the conflict and turmoil she can handle. David Bingham, the high school principal, proves to be a controlling and dangerous man, bent on fulfilling his own agenda for the school and town. Moving into an apartment in a run-down old mansion throws her into the lives of a group of displaced clowns. After a bad experience with the creepy clowns of two years ago, no one in town, least of all Bingham, wants those tenants to stay. Nessa finds herself in the middle of it all. Alongside a handsome private eye, she fights for justice for her unpopular neighbors. The tension builds until the final pages reveal who gets the last laugh.
