Welcome to Living on the Edge Radio... Part Three "My name is Andrea Hylen and I am your host tonight. " And so began the introduction of forty-four internet radio shows aired over the holidays in 2010. Twenty-seven guests and seventeen personal stories with the host. The chapters in this book are conversations rich with real stories of loss and healing, tools and resources, hope and inspiration. The Eleven radio show conversations highlighted in this book are personal experiences of the loss of a loved one. The guests shared vulnerable stories about the loss of a parent, a child, a life partner, a sibling, a spouse and a close friend. They shared the stories of initial grief and loss, the cycles of feelings and resources they used to heal and transform. This Book is Part 3 of the radio shows and includes conversations with Susan Gardener, Kathy Perry, Lee Forest Knowlton, Shelly Rachanow, Yvonne Gonzalez-Baez, Claire Perkins, Connie Cornwell, Frank Mundo, and Sally Laux. The conversations include experiences with a sudden heart attack, chronic illness, suicide, AIDS, and drug overdose. Each guest had the courage to grieve the loss and find their way to a new voice, a new life, a new world. They shared their vulnerable story to be witnessed, to heal and to shine a light for you in your own process of grief. The guests shared their story and resources that were helpful in navigating grief and connecting to a new life. There is a special poem written by Kate Brown Humphrey in honor of her mother, Marcella "Marcy" Kelley Brown. We hope the conversations, and the experiences the guests share, will help you to find a path to explore your own journey with grief, to feel the feelings and to remember your loved ones.
