The FBI's Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Directorate is responsible for addressing WMD threats to the United States. The Directorate collaborates with a host of other organizations, including the Nuclear Emergency Support Team (NEST), the US Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) group, and the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), to mitigate WMD risks. FBI Special Agent in Charge (SAIC) David Smithline and his other WMD team colleagues find themselves in a race against time trying to stop rogue terrorists from setting off a nuclear weapon somewhere in the US. Katherine Kung, David's good friend and a PhD nuclear physicist, leads NEST's technical efforts. Tensions mount as they seek clues to the whereabouts of the WMD, leading to an exciting showdown with the terrorists. Will the team be able to act in time to prevent the ultimate catastrophe from happening? It's only the fate of the entire civilized world at stake.
