"Milky Way Farms-The Way It Was" is a history of a most incredible farm operation that operated in Giles County, Tennessee from 1931 until it was sold in 1945. This history is seen through the eyes of a man that lived it from beginning to end. The reader will see what took place on a daily basis from the letters and documents that were sent to the farm manager. This venture was of utmost importance to Giles County during the "Depression". Many local citizens relied on Milky Way Farms for their livelihood, both directly and indirectly. The appendix in this work contains pictures of the everyday events that took place on the farm. This agricultural enterprise contained a variety of farm operations that were widespread. It is hard to imagine that this showplace produced prize winning show horses, the 1940 Kentucky Derby Winner, Gallahadion and world renowned Horned Hereford cattle. The clubhouse that is still in very good condition is today a showplace of the South. The reader will capture all aspects of Milky Way Farms.
