As the mother of a child with autism, I have been strongly devoted to conducting research on autism, spreading autism awareness and acceptance, and providing hope for families of those with autism ... letting them know they are not alone in their personal journeys. It is especially my mission to give hope to single parents of autistic children. These parents should never be subjected to treatment based on negative stereotypes and prejudice. I have written this book to show that no matter how difficult or numerous their tests and trials may be, families of autistic children can overcome. I am sharing my personal journey with my son Caleb, who is on the autism spectrum, to show that there is light at the end of the tunnel. No matter what things may look like at this present moment, know that you have been hand-chosen by God to care for someone very special. As a parent or caregiver of a child with special needs, you will experience many "You-have-to-be-there-to-see-it-to-believe-it" moments and learn many valuable lessons from your child. You can and will be able to handle everything that comes your way. Get ready for an awesome journey!
