As we pass through our life journey each person, we meet has a story to tell and no two stories are the same. The chances of our paths crisscrossing and having some meaning within each other's, is in the lap of the gods. This is the story of a woman from girlhood through different phases of her life and her career. The main character is Alexis who becomes a nurse, a wife a mother and a career as an executive in a hospital in the USA. The first love of her life dies from war wounds and mysterious virus. Her second love betrays her. The journey involves the people who have an impact on her and the life journey she takes not always knowing how events would unfold. The second main character is a doctor who is ruthless and greed and ambitious. The impact he makes on many people is dramatic and challenging. His destiny becomes almost a forgone conclusion. The story is set across three continents and three countries over several years in two main parts. The story includes the development and effect of an insidious virus, the VICOR-20. The story has elements of emotion of joy and sadness, betrayal, embezzlement, plus murder. The people in the story and their loves and losses, those they work with and trust and those that cannot be trusted, are all a part of the fabric of a life journey. D. F. Brown
