On a moonlit night a tiny baby turtle called Tutu hatches and digs her way out of her nest in the sand. As the sun rises, Tutu reaches the surface and her life journey begins. Instinctively Tutu knows that she must go to the ocean, and so she sets off across the sand, using her tiny flippers like oars. The ocean is not far, but for a tiny animal like Tutu the distance seems interminable, and dangers lie ahead. Birds, reptiles, crustaceans, fish, and mammals all await her. There is also another unexpected danger that might very well be her undoing.

This engaging and educational book introduces children to the world of a baby sea turtle, and they see for themselves how hard life is for such a small, defenceless creature. They also discover that their actions can have a huge impact on a baby animal like Tutu.
