Having random premonitions since childhood, Lexa Lauden thinks everyone has them, but they do not save her from brutality and betrayal. Set against the landscape of cultural forces of the 1970's and soldiers departing for and returning from Vietnam, Lexa is invited to join a rock band. She realizes that being in a band in the 70's without being immersed in some kind of drug is like trying to take a bath without water. Her life on stage entangles her in not only the issues of working with her fellow musicians, but she becomes involved in a plot of major destruction across the U. S. Her life begins to disintegrate, friends become foes and she becomes the primary suspect in a murder investigation.
