Anise wasn't always homeless. She was once a girl with drive, with a best friend, George, and with a father who mourned. Left alone, Anise searches for her own potential but finds her passion--and maybe her dead mother--in the pages of a cookbook. Anise's passion takes her to cooking school, to Hoboken, and to Manhattan, but the further into the world she goes, the further into herself she falls.
