This story shows just how vulnerable and dangerous a career in the navy is at such a young age. It follows the life aboard a new anti-submarine frigate and Barney a sixteen-year-old naive engineer. Very fast moving and filled to the brim with out-of-control situations, often sexual but not always. You will laugh and learn with him and the crew, and you will surely cry with him alone. He has the advantage of meeting an attractive older woman who sets him on the right path early in his sexual conquests but the sordid existence of dockside vice often makes degrading fools of shipmates and at times himself.
