Father Andrew McInnis knows that life-altering consequences will result if Rocco Nero?s diary falls into the wrong hands. A dedicated friend, Father McInnis visits Rocco daily. Now in his forties, Rocco has been in a minimally conscious state since he was in an accident fourteen years ago. The pastor regularly studies Rocco?s diary, bringing painful memories to mind, and apologizes to Rocco for his previous transgressions. Excited to assist Father McInnis at Saint Luke?s Hospital, teenage Amelia Victor volunteers to help out wherever she?s needed. Her father, Edmund Victor, prominent entrepreneur in the community, expresses his opposition to Amelia?s volunteer work. He is particularly bothered that she will be assisting Father McInnis, and assigned to visit Rocco Nero. Despite the obstacles in communication, Amelia and Rocco develop a strong friendship. At Father McInnis? request, she begins reading Rocco?s diary to him. She soon discovers confidential information in the injured man?s writings that affects many people, including her. Amelia is shocked to learn of a hideous conspiracy revealing things that are not as they appear in her life. Who has the most to hide from the revelation of the diary?s contents?
