Jim Wells tried to remain calm. His heart was racing, as were his thoughts as he tried to figure out just what in hell was going on and what this crazy doctor had planned for him. Just as he had no friends to speak of, Jim also had no enemies of whom he was aware. He had never knowingly hurt, deceived, or harmed anyone in his entire life and he could not possibly imagine what it was that this doctor, if that was what he really was, could want from him. A sadistic doctor, forcible restraints, truth serum, none of it made any sense. Jim felt as if he had plunged headfirst down the rabbit hole of Lewis Carroll lore. Only, he did not think he was going to be invited to tea.
